RC Batteries FAQ

Q: What's the difference between LiPo and NiMH RC batteries?

A: LiPo batteries give your RC car more speed and power, while NiMH batteries are easier to use and better for beginners. LiPo is lighter and offers longer sessions, but NiMH batteries are more forgiving if you make mistakes. We suggest starting with NiMH batteries, and as you get more experienced and your confidence grows, you can move to LiPo batteries.

Q: Which RC battery should I buy for my first RC car?

A: NiMH batteries are a great starting point for your first RC car. In fact, most beginner RTR cars come with a NiMH pack included. Once you've spent a bit of time in the hobby, switching to a LiPo battery is an easy upgrade. It will give your car more speed and longer run time.

Q: How long does an RC battery last per charge?

A: It depends on several factors, such as the battery itself, the vehicle, and how and where you're driving it. Typically, RC car batteries last around 15 to 40 minutes per charge. If you're serious about this hobby, you can buy RC batteries and keep a spare on hand so you can swap and keep going rather than stopping to wait for a charge.

Q: Can I get a refund?

A: RC Hobbyland does not offer cash refunds. However, if you return goods, you can get a store credit that you can use on future purchases. Returned items do have a 20% restocking fee. For any issues or additional information, please read our Returns Policy.
