Hobbytech FAQs

Q: How do I find the right spare part for my Hobbytech car?

A: Start with the model, then match the part number. Hobbytech parts are listed with an HT code (for example HT-CRX-008), and that code is the most reliable way to confirm fit. You can also browse by model in our parts finder for the Hobbytech CRX, CRX-18, BXR S1 and NXT 1:8th Buggy.

Q: Will Hobbytech parts fit other brands of RC car?

A: Most Hobbytech parts are model-specific, so a CRX driveshaft is made for the CRX only. General items are the exception. The Hobbytech Universal 1/8 Body Clips and the Long Cross Wrench work across many 1/8 and 1/10 cars.

Q: Which spares should I keep on hand for a Hobbytech CRX crawler?

A: Crawling puts a lot of load on the steering and driveline, so the parts that wear first are usually the front driveshafts and steering knuckles. Keeping a spare CRX Front CVD Driveshaft and a set of CRX Front Steering Knuckles in your kit means a breakage won't end your day on the trail.

Q: Should I choose a clear or a pre-painted body shell?

A: A clear body lets you create your own design. You paint it from the inside with polycarbonate-safe paint, which protects the finish from scuffs. A pre-painted body is ready to fit straight away. The BX8SL Runner body comes in both versions: clear or pre-painted in green. You'll find paint in our Body Paints and Airbrushes range.

Q: Is the Hobbytech BXR.S2 ready to drive out of the box?

A: The Hobbytech BXR.S2 is a 1/10 4WD brushless buggy sold Ready to Run, so it arrives assembled. Check the product page for whether the battery and charger are included, as RTR packages vary. Brushless power makes it a step up in speed from a beginner's brushed car.
