T-Works FAQ

Q: Why would I pay more for titanium turnbuckles or drive shafts instead of the stock steel/aluminium parts?

A: Titanium offers a stronger strength-to-weight ratio than steel, so you cut rotating and unsprung weight without sacrificing durability, weight that matters most on fast-spinning or suspension-linked parts. It's a competitive racing upgrade, not something that improves a casual basher's car noticeably. If you're not racing, the cost premium is hard to justify. Browse the full drivetrain range for comparison options.

Q: These parts are listed "for Xray X4" or "for Team Associated RC10 B6", can I use them on a different chassis?

A: No, assume not unless explicitly stated otherwise. T-Work's parts are precision-fitted to specific chassis models and often specific model years. Mounting hole spacing, shaft lengths, and thread pitch are chassis-specific, a part for the wrong model or year typically won't fit, or will fit poorly and affect handling. See the chassis parts range for compatible options by model.

Q: What's the actual benefit of graphite/carbon decks over the standard plastic ones?

A: Graphite decks are stiffer for their weight, reducing chassis flex under load, which gives more predictable, consistent handling especially at speed or on higher grip surfaces. The tradeoff is graphite is more brittle than plastic and can crack on a hard impact where plastic would flex and survive, a consideration for bashing versus controlled track racing.

Q: Do I need different washer or spacer thicknesses, or is one size fine?

A: These aren't interchangeable for convenience, thickness controls suspension arm end-float and roll centre geometry, both directly affecting handling balance. Racers fine-tune these based on track conditions and car setup. If you're not actively tuning the handling, match the stock thickness. We have a full range of suspension parts.

Q: What does "UFO screw set" mean, and does it matter which one I get for my car?

A: UFO refers to the screw head shape, a rounded, low-profile design used in racing for reduced weight and a cleaner fit in tight chassis areas. Like other T-Work's parts, these are typically sold as complete sets matched to a specific chassis model's exact screw count and sizes. Browse the hardware range for compatible sets.
