Estes Rockets FAQ

Q: What's the difference between beginner, intermediate, and advanced kits?

A: Beginner kits are quick and easy, often snap‑together with little to no glue at all. Intermediate kits, on the other hand, need a bit more work such as sanding, gluing, and painting, while advanced kits are very detailed and involve extra finishing.

Q: What tools do I need?

A: For most kits, you'll just need basics like scissors, glue, and sandpaper. Intermediate and advanced builds may need paint and primer. Engines, launch pads, and controllers are sold separately, and they're available for purchase at RC Hobbyland too.

Q: How high do they fly?

A: It all depends on the rocket and engine. For example, Estes model rockets can fly anywhere from about 30 metres to over 750 metres high. Part of the fun is trying different engines to see how high you can go.

Q: Can I reuse the rockets?

A: Yes! The rocket itself can be flown again and again as long as it lands safely. You'll just need a new motor each time. Packing the parachute properly also makes a big difference.

Q: What ages are they recommended for?

A: Model rockets are recommended for ages 18 and over. If you're under 18, parental supervision is required. Building and launching together makes for a great shared project for the whole family.
