Tamiya RC 1/10 The Grasshopper Black Edition Off-Road Buggy Kit

Celebrate a legend of RC history with the Tamiya RC 1/10 The Grasshopper Black Edition, a limited-edition take on the classic 2WD buggy that first tore up dirt tracks across the U.S. back in 1984. Boasting easy assembly and easy control, the lightweight Grasshopper proved an instant hit as the perfect entry-level RC kit, and this special edition keeps every bit of that original charm while adding a striking new look.

Please note this is an unassembled kit requiring assembly; it ships as a build-it-yourself kit and does not arrive pre-built or ready to run.

The perfect combination of simple assembly and a tough exterior is what made the Grasshopper so special in the first place. A durable plastic body is fastened to a bathtub resin monocoque chassis by screws, creating a solid frame that can absorb rough handling. Off-road tracks are no match for its coil spring dampers and independent swing axle front and rigid axle rear suspension, while a diff-loaded sealed gearbox keeps dirt and stones out for smooth driving and cornering. Paddle-style rear tyres and grooved front tyres combine with 3-piece assembly-type wheels for excellent grip on dirt tracks, and a half-body driver figure rounds out the look of this fun off-road RC car. This kit is also compatible with a full range of optional parts, such as oil dampers, a 540 motor, and ball bearings, so it can keep pace with your driving experience as it grows.
