The Team Associated RC8B4.2 Team Kit Euro Edition is the latest evolution of Associated Electrics’ championship-winning 1/8 scale nitro buggy platform. Developed by the Area 51 engineering team, the RC8B4.2 Euro Edition builds on the proven RC8 platform with significant updates to the chassis, suspension geometry, drivetrain and differential system.

The Euro Edition has been specifically configured for the high-speed, high-grip conditions commonly encountered on European-style 1/8 off-road tracks. Its combination of revised weight distribution, updated suspension geometry and extensive setup options gives serious racers a highly tunable platform capable of adapting to changing track conditions.

One of the major updates is the introduction of new moulded height-adjustable front and rear gearboxes. This allows racers to alter the gearbox height and drivetrain geometry to fine-tune handling characteristics for different grip levels and track surfaces.

New offset wheel hubs are combined with updated rear suspension arms designed around the revised hub geometry. The suspension updates provide additional setup possibilities while maintaining the durability required for demanding 1/8 scale competition.

At the heart of the Euro Edition is Team Associated’s new V2 FWB chassis. The forward weight-bias configuration is particularly suited to high-speed and high-grip circuits, helping provide responsive steering and predictable chassis behaviour through fast direction changes.

New long chassis brace options provide another important tuning tool. Racers can alter chassis flex characteristics to influence steering response, traction and stability, allowing the buggy to be adapted to different track conditions.

The RC8B4.2 also features a new high-volume centre differential. The increased oil capacity helps maintain more consistent differential performance as temperatures change during longer races, providing predictable power delivery from the beginning of a run through to the final laps.

The drivetrain uses proven 44/13 ring and pinion gear sets, together with 92mm universal driveshafts and 17mm outdrives. These heavy-duty components are designed to efficiently transfer the power produced by modern competition .21 nitro engines.

A 20mm HTC internal differential gear set is supplied, providing the smooth and predictable differential action required for high-level competition.

Suspension components use Team Associated’s soft-blend composite material, providing the controlled flex characteristics required for off-road racing. 8-degree KPI steering blocks are also included, giving racers additional control over steering feel and front-end response.

Factory Team hard-anodised aluminium shock bushings are now supplied as standard equipment, complementing the competition-grade 16mm oil-filled shock absorbers and providing smooth, consistent suspension operation.

The braking system has also been updated with revised brake pad material and a new brake spring. These changes are designed to provide more consistent braking performance and improved feel during demanding race conditions.

A new high-downforce rear wing helps improve rear stability at speed and provides additional aerodynamic grip through fast sections and over large jumps.

As expected from a Team Associated Team Kit, extensive adjustment is available throughout the buggy. Suspension geometry, differential setup, gearbox height, chassis flex, ride height, shock settings, camber, toe and other parameters can all be tuned to suit the track and individual driving style.

The RC8B4.2 Euro Edition is supplied as a professional competition assembly kit, allowing racers to select their preferred .21 nitro engine, exhaust system, servos, radio equipment, wheels and tyres.
