The EF510 type 0 is an AC/DC electric locomotive that appeared in 2002 to replace the EF81 type and began operation in 2004. The car was nicknamed ``ECO-POWER Red Thunder'' because of its red-based paint, and the logo is placed on the car body. In addition to being mainly used on the Japan Sea Jukan Line, where the EF81 type was previously used, in recent years, the range of activity has expanded to include the Chuo West Line and the Tokaido/Sanyo Main Line up to Okayama. The Koki 106 type was introduced in 1997 as a container freight car that was compatible with the loading of marine containers. Midway through production, the car body was changed from sky blue to gray, and cars that appeared in sky blue were also changed to gray during inspection. From around 2017, when vehicles are repainted during inspections, the JRF mark on the side of the vehicle body will be removed, and from 2022, the prohibition of overshooting display will also be removed.
