Tamiya 1/700 German Heavy Cruiser Prinz Eugen Waterline Plastic Model Kit

The Tamiya 1/700 German Heavy Cruiser Prinz Eugen is a plastic assembly model kit of the third and last Admiral Hipper Class heavy cruiser commissioned by the Kriegsmarine. Part of Tamiya's Water Line Series, it recreates the ship's equipment and armament faithfully and lets you build her as she appeared in either of two famous operations: Operation Rheinubung in 1941 or Operation Cerberus in 1942.

Please note this is an unassembled plastic model kit requiring assembly; paints, cement and hobby tools are not included and are required to complete the model.

The Germania Belst Company from Kiel constructed the Prinz Eugen, and the huge cruiser was elongated an additional 5 meters over other Admiral Hipper Class ships. With a displacement tonnage of over 14,000 tons, she packed the firepower of four 20.3cm twin gun turrets as her main armament. In May of 1941 she took part in Operation Rheinubung to intercept trade ships in the Atlantic, joining the Battleship Bismarck to help sink the British Battle Cruiser Hood and damage the British Battleship Prince of Wales. In February of 1942, together with the German battleships Scharnhorst and Gneisenau, she made the unexpected daylight dash through the British Channel known as Operation Cerberus. One of the few German cruisers to survive World War II, the Prinz Eugen now rests in the Marshal Islands.
