It âs not only larger than the timber x 1. 2m, turbo timber 1. 5m, and twin timber 1. 6m models but also features a more flexible and powerful 4s to 6s compatible power system. Plus, it âs equipped with even more âsuper â features and capabilities that set it apart from all the rest including inflatable tires with beadlock wheels, heavy-duty and articulated shock-absorbing landing gear, slats that can be installed without glue and removed easily in seconds, fastener-free wing and tail attachment, and more. It âs the most feature-rich, capable, and best flying timber model to date which makes it perfect for everything from slow and easy cruising to sport and all-out aerobatic flying â along with the incredible stol capabilities a wide range of pilots have come to expect
The e-flite super timber 1. 7m is equipped with a long list of âsuper â details that make it the most feature-rich and capable timber yet! starting with inflatable tundra tires and unique beadlock wheels mounted on heavy-duty articulated and shock-absorbing landing gear that are angled forward to help prevent nose-overs. It âs the best and strongest landing gear that âs ever been installed on a timber model to deliver maximum durability and stol capability when flying from almost any terrain! the optional-use slats can be clipped into place without the use of any glue, then can be removed and even reinstalled in seconds. All the led lights you âve come to expect are there, along with additional position and landing lights for added visibility. The horizontal stabilizer halves snap into place, plus the plug-in wing panels featuring hands-free servo connections are secured with innovative wing lock mechanisms so no fasteners or tools are required to install/remove them. There âs even a custom-designed clip in the fuselage that holds the wing joiner tube so you never forget it when the wing is removed for more convenient storage and transport! the digital, metal-geared servos deliver precise and reliable control of the oversized control surfaces for added authority, including flaps that can travel both ways for additional capabilities such as optional-use full-span ailerons
A specially tuned motor is matched to an exclusive 85-amp spektrum avian smart lite esc that can provide a variety of real-time power system telemetry data with smart and non-smart batteries via compatible receivers (including the ar637ta installed in the bnf basic version) and spektrum airware equipped transmitters. The bnf basic version is equipped with an ar637ta receiver to provide full-range, real-time telemetry data, including overall battery voltage, esc temp, and more â plus motor/thrust reversing for special ground handling and other capabilities â along with the benefits of as3x and optional-use safe select technologies. The super timber 1. 7m also features a large top hatch for faster, easier battery changes using a quick-release, multi-position battery mounting tray that fits most 4s to 6s 3200 â5000mah batteries. You even have the option to install floats (sold separately) to fly from ponds and lakes! all these super details and features add up to make this the best short take off and landing (stol), everyday sport, and even aggressive aerobatics capable model for a wide range of pilots.
skill level 2 â some experience required
Skill level 2 aircraft, like this one, are suitable for rc pilots who already have some experience and the skills to assemble, set up, and fly similar class models. And although this bnf basic version is equipped with optional-use safe select, it's not a suitable first-ever rc aircraft for new pilots, or "next step after a trainer" model for low-time rc pilots. You should have the experience and skills necessary to successfully fly stol-capable models like the e-flite timber x 1. 2m, turbo timber evolution 1. 5m, twin timber 1. 6m, or other similar class models before attempting to fly the super timber 1. 7m.

This model is equipped with exclusive spektrum as3x and safe select technologies. As3x works behind the scenes to smooth out the effects of wind and turbulence to deliver a locked-in feel that makes it seem like you're flying an even larger airplane. Optional-use safe select offers pitch and bank angle limits along with automatic self-leveling that can be turned on and off at the flip of a switch to make it easier to take off, fly and land!

Both the pnp and bnf basic versions of the super timber 1. 7m are equipped with an exclusive spektrum avian 85a smart lite esc that can provide a variety of real-time power system-related telemetry data, including overall battery voltage, motor rpm, current draw, and more â with smart and non-smart batteries â via compatible receivers (including the ar637ta installed in the bnf basic version) and spektrum airware equipped transmitters (including the dx6e and 8e, dx6 g2/3 and 8 g2, the dx9, nx6 to 20, ix12 to 20, and others) while you fly. It also features optional-use motor/thrust reversing to offer special ground handling and other capabilities.

Double-beveled hinge lines make it possible to deflect all the oversized control surfaces to high angles for outstanding control and aerobatic capability. Plus, the flaps can travel both ways for optional use as full-span ailerons for even more aggressive capabilities. Or on low rates, the controls can be smooth and docile so you can fly as mild or as wild as you'd like!
super stol (short takeoff and landing)
The wing design has a larger span and more area than the timber x 1. 2m and turbo 1. 5m models, plus it features drooped wingtips and can be equipped with the included optional-use leading edge slats for improved slow flight and stol performance. The slats clip into place for easy installation without the use of glue or tools â and can easily be removed then reinstalled in seconds! these features, along with the lightweight design, oversized flaps, and high-power brushless power system, make it possible to spring into the air or float down to land in as little as a few feet or less.
super versatile gear
From thick grass to gravel paths and dirt trails âeven local lakes and ponds âyou can easily fly off of these and many other surfaces with the super timber 1. 7m. The heavy-duty, articulated, and shock-absorbing landing gear is angled forward to help prevent nose-overs making it the best and strongest installed to a timber model yet! it âs also equipped with inflatable rubber tundra-style tires (air pump included) mounted to unique beadlock wheels to better soak up the bumps of rough surfaces and not-so-great landings. Extra hardware is also included to mount the optional float set (efla550; sold separately) that features a water rudder for superb steering control. Whichever gear option you choose to fly with, both are easy to install and can be swapped out in minutes!

And the factory-installed digital, metal-geared servos are precise, durable, and reliable. In the unfortunate event you damage any airframe parts or components and can't repair them, a full line of replacement/spare parts is readily available.

Like most other timber models, the super timber comes with realistic-looking led landing, navigation, and strobe lights that are factory-installed and powered by the flight battery. It even has additional position and landing lights for added visibility!
