Italeri Panther Sd.Kfz.171 Ausf. A 1/56 Scale Starter Model Kit – 75003

The Italeri Panther Sd.Kfz.171 Ausf. A is a 1/56 scale plastic model starter kit recreating one of Germany's most important and recognisable tanks of the Second World War.

Designed as an ideal introduction to plastic modelling, this set includes the Panther model kit, model glue and three acrylic brush markers, providing the main essentials needed to start building and painting straight from the box. With an Italeri Skill Level 1 rating, it offers straightforward assembly while retaining the distinctive shape and important details of the original Panther.

Panther Sd.Kfz.171 Ausf. A

The Panzerkampfwagen V Panther was developed after German forces encountered the Soviet T-34 and KV-1 tanks on the Eastern Front.

Its design combined strong armour protection, excellent firepower and good mobility. One of the Panther's most recognisable features was its sloped frontal armour, which provided improved protection without simply relying on thicker and heavier armour plate.

The Panther went on to see extensive service on the major European battlefronts, including the Eastern Front, Italy and France.

Powerful 75mm KwK 42 Gun

The Panther was armed with the formidable 75mm KwK 42 high-velocity gun, one of the most effective anti-tank weapons fitted to a German production tank during World War II.

Its high muzzle velocity provided excellent armour penetration, giving the Panther considerable effectiveness against enemy tanks at range.

700HP Maybach V12 Engine

Power came from a 700 horsepower Maybach V12 petrol engine.

Combined with the Panther's suspension and comparatively well-balanced design, this gave the tank impressive mobility for a vehicle with substantial armour and firepower. The combination helped establish the Panther as one of the most capable medium tanks of the Second World War.

Ideal First Model Kit

Italeri's 1/56 starter range has been designed to make getting into plastic modelling easier.

The box contains the highly detailed plastic kit, glue and three acrylic brush markers, reducing the number of additional supplies required before you can begin. Italeri rates the model at Skill Level 1, making it particularly suitable for beginners or anyone looking for a straightforward WWII armour project.

Compact 1/56 Scale

At 1/56 scale, the completed Panther measures approximately 154mm long.

The compact scale makes the model easy to display while still providing enough size to reproduce the Panther's distinctive turret, long-barrelled gun, sloped hull and running gear.

Two Marking Options

Italeri includes decals for two different German WWII versions, giving the modeller a choice when finishing the vehicle.

Additional painting, washes, weathering and battle effects can also be added for those wanting to take the finished model further.
