XRAY X8’26 1/8 Electric On-Road Pan Car Kit – XY340501

The XRAY X8’26 (XY340501) is a premium 1/8 scale 4WD electric on-road pan car developed specifically for high-performance electric racing. The 2026 version introduces a substantially revised chassis and suspension layout focused on lowering the centre of gravity, improving weight distribution and giving racers greater control over chassis flex and handling characteristics.

Designed and manufactured to XRAY’s competition standards, the X8’26 combines precision-machined aluminium, carbon fibre and high-quality composite components with an extensively adjustable suspension system. It is supplied as an unassembled racing kit for experienced builders and racers who want to select their own electronics, batteries, body, wheels and tyres.

All-New Low Centre of Gravity Chassis

A major change for the X8’26 is the redesigned chassis layout. The batteries are positioned directly on the chassis, helping achieve the lowest possible centre of gravity.

The battery mounting system is adjustable to accommodate Long, Medium or Short battery configurations without requiring the electronics plate to be repositioned. This gives racers considerably more freedom when choosing batteries and adjusting weight distribution.

Revised Motor & Drivetrain Layout

The motor has been moved as far rearward as possible, sitting immediately in front of the rear suspension. A new 35T aluminium pulley and smaller spur gear help make this rearward motor position possible.

The new pulley arrangement also permits the use of larger front tyres, which can provide additional traction on bumpy tracks while improving steering response.

The X8’26 features a front one-way axle with a hard-coated surface along with a reinforced lightweight rear solid axle for smooth, efficient power delivery.

Updated Front Suspension

The independent front suspension has been further developed for the 2026 model.

A new system incorporating precision bushings and rubber O-rings allows suspension flex characteristics to be adjusted. Hardened precision pivot balls are used throughout the front suspension, while racers retain extensive adjustment of important geometry including caster, camber and toe.

Ride height can also be precisely adjusted using carbon spacers at the front.

Adjustable Rear Suspension Flex

The rear suspension is mounted directly to the chassis and allows its flex characteristics to be tuned.

XRAY has also increased the wheelbase and widened the rear suspension configuration to improve overall stability and handling. Rear ride height is adjustable using eccentric bushings, providing another useful setup option for different track conditions.

Ultra-Low Steering Servo Position

The steering servo mounts directly to the main chassis immediately behind the front suspension, keeping this relatively heavy component extremely low in the car.

A milled channel through the chassis provides a neat route for the servo cable to the receiver, while a HUDY hard-anodised aluminium servo saver mounts directly to the servo for precise steering response.

Removable Electronics Plate

The removable electronics plate makes installation and servicing of the electronic components easier while also playing an important role in chassis tuning.

Its mounting arrangement allows racers to alter the flex characteristics of the rear of the car, providing another setup tool for adapting the X8’26 to different tracks and grip levels.
