UDI RC Firefly U46C Mini Camera Drone – Ready to Fly

The UDI RC U46C Firefly is a compact and easy-to-fly mini quadcopter designed primarily for indoor flying. With a built-in camera, altitude hold, headless mode, one-button take-off and landing, and smartphone FPV capability, the Firefly packs plenty of useful features into an incredibly small package.

Weighing only around 24g and measuring approximately 91 x 80 x 31.8mm, the U46C is small enough to fly comfortably around the home while its protected propeller design helps make it more forgiving when learning to fly.

Built-In Camera & FPV

Despite its compact dimensions, the U46C features aerial photography and real-time FPV capability.

Using the compatible smartphone app, the pilot can view the camera feed in real time, providing a fun introduction to FPV-style drone flying and aerial photography. App control is also supported.

Altitude Hold

Altitude Hold Mode makes the Firefly considerably easier for beginners to control.

Rather than constantly adjusting the throttle to maintain height, the drone can automatically maintain approximately the same altitude, allowing the pilot to concentrate on steering and positioning the aircraft.

This also helps provide a more stable platform when using the onboard camera.

Headless / Heading Hold Mode

The U46C includes Heading Hold Mode, commonly known as Headless Mode.

When activated, you don't need to continually keep track of which direction the front of the drone is pointing. Control inputs remain relative to the pilot's orientation, making flying much easier for newcomers.

One-Button Take-Off & Landing

Getting into the air is made simple with one-button take-off and landing.

Press the appropriate button and the Firefly automatically takes off or lands, removing one of the more difficult aspects of learning to fly a conventional quadcopter.

Multiple Speed Modes

The Firefly offers three selectable speed modes – Low, Medium and High.

Beginners can start with the slower setting while becoming familiar with the controls, then increase the response as their flying skills improve.

Compact & Crash-Resistant Design

The Firefly has been specifically designed to cope with the occasional bumps and crashes that naturally occur when learning to fly.

Its small, lightweight construction and protected propellers make it an excellent choice for indoor use. At only around 24g including the battery and propellers, there's very little mass behind an accidental impact.

Low Battery & Out-of-Range Warnings

Useful low-battery and out-of-range alarms help the pilot know when it's time to land or bring the drone closer.

These are particularly useful features for beginners, helping reduce the likelihood of unexpectedly losing power or control during flight.

2.4GHz Radio Control

A dedicated 2.4GHz transmitter is included, providing conventional twin-stick control of the Firefly.

The transmitter controls take-off, landing, altitude, forward and backward movement, left and right movement and rotation.

The transmitter requires 3 x AAA batteries, which are sold separately.

Rechargeable LiPo Battery & USB Charging

Power is supplied by a compact 3.7V 180mAh LiPo battery.

UDI quotes approximately 8 minutes of flight time in calm conditions, with charging taking around 30 minutes using the supplied USB charging system.
