Launched in 2002, jiao long is the first operational deep-sea manned submersible designed and developed independently bychina. It aims to provide a deep-sea carrying platform for international seabed resource surveys, seabed operations and scientific research inchinaocean, which is able to cover 99. 8% of the earth's seafloor. With the maximum diving depth of 7062m, it was accepted and delivered in 2013.
