The Traxxas TRX-4 1979 Ford F-150 Ranger XLT High Trail Edition combines authentic classic-truck styling with the advanced off-road capability of the TRX-4 platform. Finished in metallic blue, its officially licensed Ford body features impressive scale details and a raised stance created by the factory-installed Long Arm Lift Kit.

The detailed 1979 Ford F-150 Ranger XLT body includes a moulded grille, chrome bumpers, side mirrors, door handles, windscreen wipers and a detailed roll bar. A clipless mounting system preserves the body’s clean scale appearance while allowing quick access to the chassis and battery compartment.

High Trail Edition models ride higher than standard TRX-4 vehicles, providing additional ground clearance and improved approach, departure and breakover angles. Extended aluminium GTS shocks and revised suspension links maintain excellent articulation while giving the truck its commanding lifted stance.

Portal axles provide 99 mm of centre ground clearance while reducing torque twist and drivetrain stress. The remotely operated front and rear differential locks allow the driver to switch between open differentials for tighter turning and fully locked differentials for maximum climbing traction.

A remotely operated two-speed transmission provides low-range control for technical rock crawling and a higher gear for travelling between obstacles. Both the transmission and differential functions are controlled directly from the included four-channel TQi transmitter.

Power comes from the trail-tuned Titan 550 21-turn brushed motor and waterproof XL-5 HV electronic speed controller. Five selectable driving profiles include dedicated Trail and Crawl modes with specialised drag-brake settings for maintaining control on steep terrain.

Large 2.2-inch Canyon Trail tyres use Traxxas S1 rubber compound and trail-tuned foam inserts for dependable grip across rocks, dirt and loose surfaces. The tyres are mounted on detailed slotted-mag wheels with scale hub inserts.

A full-length steel ladder-frame chassis, steel drivetrain gears and sealed ball bearings provide a durable foundation for serious trail driving. Waterproof electronics allow the TRX-4 to continue exploring through mud, puddles and wet conditions.

The TRX-4 Ford F-150 High Trail arrives fully assembled and Ready to Drive after adding a suitable battery. A compatible NiMH or 2S–3S LiPo battery, charger and four AA transmitter batteries are required separately.
