The Team Associated RC10 Jay Halsey Edition celebrates one of the most important cars and drivers in RC racing history. Based on the legendary original RC10, this special edition recreates the buggy raced by “Jammin’” Jay Halsey, complete with period-correct components and distinctive race-inspired details.

Released as part of the 40th anniversary celebration of the RC10, the Jay Halsey Edition combines the unmistakable gold aluminium monocoque chassis and classic RC10 engineering with special components inspired by Halsey's world championship-winning machine.

A Piece of RC Racing History

The original Team Associated RC10 was introduced on 5 December 1984 and quickly established itself as one of the most influential electric off-road racing cars ever produced.

The platform went on to achieve success at both ROAR National and IFMAR World Championship level. The Jay Halsey Edition pays tribute to the RC10 driven at the first IFMAR Worlds in Del Mar, California, recreating many of the upgrades and distinctive components used on Halsey's race car.

For collectors and long-time RC enthusiasts, it's an opportunity to build a highly authentic version of one of the cars that helped define electric off-road racing.

Classic Aluminium Monocoque Chassis

At the heart of the RC10 is its famous T6 aircraft aluminium monocoque tub chassis.

Rather than using the moulded composite chassis construction common in modern buggies, the aluminium tub forms the foundation of the vehicle and gives the RC10 its instantly recognisable appearance.

The chassis is combined with a fully adjustable four-wheel independent suspension system, providing genuine racing adjustability while retaining the character of the original design.

Special Jay Halsey Edition Components

This edition isn't simply a standard RC10 with different decals. Team Associated has included a selection of components specifically chosen to reproduce the appearance and specification of Jay Halsey's competition buggy.

Special equipment includes the distinctive black three-piece front wheels, knobby front tyres, JG-style front bumper, black G10 front shock tower and replica three-piece IFMAR-winning rear wing.

These details give the finished buggy an authentic period racing appearance that sets it apart from the standard RC10 Classic.

Adjustable Aluminium Racing Shocks

The RC10 Jay Halsey Edition features adjustable custom aluminium racing shocks, providing proper oil-damped suspension performance and allowing the suspension to be tuned to suit different surfaces and driving conditions.

Combined with the independent suspension geometry, the adjustable shocks provide the same fundamental tuning principles that helped make the original RC10 such a successful racing platform.

Build It Your Way

ASS6008 is supplied as a full assembly kit, making the building experience a major part of the appeal.

Electronics are not included, allowing you to select your preferred motor, ESC, steering servo and radio equipment. The chassis is designed to accommodate either a traditional 6-cell NiMH battery or a 2S LiPo battery.
