Tamiya 1/700 Taiho Aircraft Carrier Plastic Model Kit

The Tamiya Taiho Aircraft Carrier is a 1/700 scale plastic assembly model kit of Japan's armoured-deck carrier, built under a new design philosophy late in WWII.

Please note this is an unassembled plastic model kit requiring assembly; paints, cement and hobby tools are not included and are required to complete the model.

This is an assembly kit of the Taiho, an aircraft carrier which was completed in March 1944, near the end of WWII. Built with a new design philosophy, she was expected to be a mainstay of Japan's Mobile Fleet, but was sunk by submarine attack just three months into her service life. Distinctive features of the ship such as the armoured flight deck and enclosed bow have been accurately reproduced. The bridge and anti-aircraft armament are also sharply rendered.
