Tamiya 1/700 Japanese Light Cruiser Agano Plastic Model Kit

The Tamiya Japanese Light Cruiser Agano is a 1/700 scale plastic assembly model kit of the lead ship of the destroyer flotilla leaders built under the Fourth Fleet Replenishment Plan.

Please note this is an unassembled plastic model kit requiring assembly; paints, cement and hobby tools are not included and are required to complete the model.

Light cruisers had the important role of being destroyer flotilla leaders, coordinating their unit's torpedo attacks while making attacks themselves. In 1939, a new class of such flotilla leaders was created under the Fourth Fleet Replenishment Plan, and this is a model of Agano, the lead ship of her namesake class, which served throughout the Pacific until she was sunk by a U.S. submarine in the waters off Truk. This kit depicts the ship as she appeared upon her completion in 1942, and accurately reproduces the balanced design, including her masts and twin 15cm gun turrets.
