The Tamiya 1/24 1978 Ford Zakspeed Capri Turbo recreates one of the most aggressive silhouette racers of the Group 5 era, capturing the squat, wide-bodied form that terrorised the DRM in period.

Please note this is an unassembled plastic model kit requiring assembly; paints, cement and hobby tools are not included and are required to complete the model.

This release is an updated version of Item 24014, Tamiya's original 1/24 Ford Zakspeed Capri Turbo (first sold in 1979 as a motorised kit), now featuring new Cartograf decals along with an updated instruction manual and packaging. The DRM (German Racing Championship) of the late 1970s ran two classes split by engine displacement, and the Ford Zakspeed Capri Turbo was built to challenge the BMW 320 Turbo in the category above 2,000cc. Powered by a 1,427cc turbocharged inline-four producing 375hp and kept light at just 790kg thanks to extensive use of FRP bodywork, the car debuted at the eighth round of the 1978 DRM season at Hockenheim, wearing its extremely low nose, wide body and striking red-and-yellow-on-black livery.
