A reproduction of the special-spec Tomahawk that competed in the inaugural 1985 World Championships !

The inaugural IFMAR (International Federation of Model Race Cars) 1/10 EP (Electric) Off-Road Car World Championship, held in the United States in 1985, brought together the latest racing buggies from around the world to compete for the championship. The Japanese Kyosho team also entered its Tomahawk in the 2WD class of the same championship, and now, 41 years later, the works-spec Tomahawk, which was also driven by its designer, Akira Konokawa, is being revived. The Tomahawk '85 World Championship Spec, which will be sold as the 20th installment of the Kyosho Vintage Series in limited quantities, is based on the RWD buggy Tomahawk that was re-released in 2015, and features newly manufactured parts and optional parts as standard equipment, recreating the model that competed in the World Championship while achieving a significant performance improvement.

The ladder frame, a characteristic of the Tomahawk, has been changed to stainless steel, and A7075 duralumin is used for the rear suspension plate and gearbox plate to improve chassis rigidity. The reinforced hollow stainless steel main chassis rails used at the time are being commercialized for the first time with this '85 World Championship Spec. The front suspension has also been reinforced with a combination of integrated steel caster locks and CNC-machined arm shaft locks. The front and rear shock stays have been replaced with newly manufactured FRP parts, and the servo mounts also use FRP plates to lower the center of gravity, leaving no detail overlooked. In addition, numerous modifications have been made, such as the addition of a rear wing (which was not present on the standard Tomahawk) and the standardization of a ball differential, resulting in a finish worthy of the name of world championship specification. The appearance of this kit, which allows you to fully enjoy the magnificent appearance and performance of the Tomahawk that graced the inaugural IFMAR EP Buggy World Championship, which continues to this day, is not to be missed not only by those who remember it from back then, but also by new fans.
