The rockwell international ov-10 bronco was the winner of a competition to design a light armed reconnaissance aircraft (lara) for the united states air force, navy, and marine corps. The first aircraft were delivered in 1969, and the ov-10 had already seen action in the vietnam war. The aircraft was highly versatile, capable of operating from short runways, with a takeoff run of approximately 225 meters.
