This soldering station was created to be used with a 12v power supply but with a wider power input capability of 10v to 30v dc it is now more versatile.  the power source needs to be able to provide and sustain a 100w of power for at least the first 10-15 seconds ex: (10a with 10v /  8a with 12v / 4a with 25v). The large unit also has a cavity space to hook up and stor your 3s lipo battery, just turn the switch on and start soldering!
