Bring the world's fastest steam locomotive to life with the Hornby TT:120 LNER Class A4 4-6-2 4468 'Mallard' Digital, a detailed Era 3 model complete with a pre-fitted HM7000 Bluetooth sound decoder, opening up wireless app-based control and authentic locomotive sound effects.

This is a ready-to-run, fully assembled model railway locomotive; no assembly is required out of the box.

The Gresley A4 is one of Britain's most iconic express locomotives, its streamlined casing a defining symbol of 1930s railway design as the LNER raced to keep pace with growing competition from road and air travel. Inspired by the streamlining of Germany's Fliegende Hamburger, Sir Nigel Gresley developed the A4 from the earlier A3 Pacific, refining its steam circuit and firebox to run more efficiently at speed. 4468 Mallard, designed by Gresley, still holds the world speed record for a steam locomotive at 126mph, set in 1938. It later served under British Railways as 60022 before being withdrawn in 1963.
