Traditional Wooden Construction

Dumas supplies the Lightning with nylon sails, completing the model's authentic sailing yacht appearance without requiring the builder to manufacture the sails from scratch.

The completed model features a substantial 26-inch (660mm) mast, giving the relatively compact 19-inch hull an impressive overall presence.

Designed for Free Sailing

The Lightning is designed for the relaxed enjoyment of free sailing. Rather than steering the model using a radio transmitter, the sails are set and the boat is allowed to travel under wind power.

Dumas specifically states that the Lightning is not designed for radio control, so no motor, ESC, receiver or radio equipment is required.
