1974 Bathurst Triumph Against the Odds

Classic Carlectables is proud to present this special Gold Livery Edition of the Ford XA Falcon GT in celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the 1974 Bathurst victory, driven by John Goss and Kevin Bartlett.
The 1974 Bathurst race was a challenging year for Ford fans, with the company withdrawing official support from motorsport. While Holden introduced the powerful SL/R 5000, Ford had only three Falcon entries on the grid, including the high-profile but untested Moffat/Glemser Brut 33 Falcon, which later suffered mechanical issues.
Despite tough track conditions and fierce competition from the Holden Dealer Team, the Goss/Bartlett Falcon stayed consistent and avoided major trouble. As the race progressed, leading Holden entries began to falterBrocks Torana retired while Bonds car was black-flagged due to oil leaks.
In a dramatic turn, John Goss took the lead, battling heavy rain and a puncture before handing over to Kevin Bartlett, who powered through the final laps. Against all odds, the duo claimed a historic victory, giving Ford fans a reason to celebrate in a year full of setbacks.
