The ARRMA GORGON MEGA 550 is a tough, easy-to-drive and highly upgradeable 1/10 scale 2WD monster truck that's an excellent introduction to hobby-grade RC.

Built with ARRMA's bash-friendly durability, the GORGON combines a rugged composite chassis, oil-filled suspension, huge dBoots Chevron monster truck tyres and a powerful MEGA 550 brushed motor with reliable Spektrum electronics.

The ARA3230ST4 comes completely assembled and Ready-to-Run in the striking Purple colour scheme, with the battery, Smart charger and transmitter batteries included.

Ready-to-Run with Battery & Charger

Everything needed to get started is included apart from a suitable USB power source for the charger.

The GORGON comes with a Spektrum 8.4V 3300mAh 7-cell Smart NiMH battery with IC3 connector and a Spektrum S120 USB-C Smart charger.

Spektrum Smart technology makes charging particularly straightforward. The charger automatically detects compatible Smart battery information and selects the appropriate charging profile.

MEGA 550 Brushed Power

Power comes from an ARRMA MEGA 550 14-turn brushed motor, giving the GORGON plenty of performance for backyard and off-road bashing.

ARRMA rates the truck at speeds of 20+ mph / 32+ km/h.

The brushed power system is a great starting point for newer drivers — fast enough to be exciting while remaining much easier to manage than a high-powered brushless truck.

Spektrum 40A ESC & Receiver

The GORGON is equipped with a Spektrum waterproof SLT 2-in-1 40A ESC and receiver.

The ESC provides smooth proportional throttle control and is also 2S LiPo compatible, giving owners an easy battery upgrade path when they're ready for additional performance.

Spektrum SLT2 Radio System

The included Spektrum SLT2 2.4GHz transmitter provides reliable interference-resistant control and a simple layout that's ideal for newer RC drivers.

Throttle limiting allows the truck's maximum performance to be reduced while learning, then increased as driving skills and confidence improve.

Brushless-Ready Transmission

One of the biggest advantages of the GORGON is its upgrade potential.

Although supplied with a brushed motor, ARRMA has designed the drivetrain to be brushless ready. The transmission features durable composite and alloy gears, metal internal differential gears, slipper clutch and heavy-duty composite slider driveshafts.

This means you can enjoy the GORGON in its standard brushed configuration and have a strong drivetrain foundation if you decide to upgrade to brushless power later.

Tough Composite Chassis

A strong moulded composite chassis provides the backbone of the GORGON.

The chassis design combines strength with straightforward maintenance and helps minimise dirt and debris build-up during off-road running.

With approximately 50mm of ground clearance, the GORGON is well suited to driving across dirt, gravel, grass and other rough surfaces.

Oil-Filled Suspension

Proper oil-filled shock absorbers help the GORGON soak up bumps, jumps and rough terrain.

ARRMA equips the GORGON with metal internal differential gears for additional drivetrain durability.

The differential is also easy to access for maintenance, while the slipper clutch helps protect the transmission against sudden loads and impacts.

Heavy-Duty Driveshafts

Heavy-duty composite slider driveshafts transfer power from the transmission to the rear wheels.

The drivetrain runs on rubber-shielded bearings, helping provide smooth operation while reducing maintenance.

Easy Battery Access

The GORGON provides body-on battery access, making battery changes quick and convenient.

The battery compartment accepts the supplied 7-cell NiMH pack or compatible 7.4V 2S hardcase LiPo batteries, with maximum battery dimensions of approximately 140 x 50 x 35mm.
