The Team Associated SR7 Hoonicorn brings one of the most famous custom performance cars in the world to life in an enormous 1/7 scale R/C platform. Developed in partnership with Hoonigan and featuring an officially licensed Ford Mustang Hoonicorn body, the SR7 combines incredible scale detail with a heavy-duty 4WD chassis designed to handle serious brushless power.

Designed from the ground up by Team Associated's Area 51 Design Works engineers, the SR7 is one of the largest platforms Team Associated has produced. This Roller version comes assembled but without electronics, giving enthusiasts the freedom to choose their own motor, ESC, steering servo and radio equipment to create anything from a powerful street machine to an extreme tyre-shredding setup.

The centrepiece of the SR7 is its officially licensed Ford/Hoonigan Mustang Hoonicorn body. Inspired by the legendary 1965 Ford Mustang-based Hoonicorn, the body incorporates an impressive level of moulded scale detail.

A moulded 1965 Mustang grille and headlight buckets capture the unmistakable front-end styling, with the headlight buckets designed to accept optional LEDs. Moulded turbochargers and intake manifold details recreate the wild twin-turbo appearance of the full-size Hoonicorn, while realistic window graphics complete the aggressive scale presentation.

At the rear, a moulded spoiler, tail lights and functional-looking rear diffuser contribute to both the scale appearance and high-speed styling of the car.

Underneath the body is Team Associated's purpose-designed SR7 4WD chassis. Integrated chassis bracing provides the strength and rigidity required for a vehicle of this size, while heavy-duty front and rear CVA driveshafts transfer power through the drivetrain.

The SR7 uses 17mm aluminium wheel hexes and wheel nuts, providing a strong and secure mounting system suitable for the loads generated by large-scale tyres and powerful brushless systems.

Front and rear anti-roll bars help control chassis movement during aggressive cornering and high-speed direction changes. The upper suspension arms feature adjustable camber and roll-centre settings, allowing the suspension geometry to be fine-tuned to suit different surfaces and driving styles.

The wheelbase is also adjustable, providing another useful chassis tuning option. Front and rear body mounts can be adjusted to achieve the desired body positioning and clearance.

A two-piece adjustable motor mount allows a range of motor and gearing combinations to be installed, including taller gearing setups for drivers chasing increased top speed.

Dual battery trays are positioned within the chassis and feature adjustable length along with hook-and-loop retaining straps. The vehicle is designed to accommodate two hard-case 2S or 3S LiPo batteries, allowing builders to configure the power system around their chosen electronics.

An enclosed receiver box helps protect the receiver from dirt and debris, while an integrated servo saver helps protect the steering servo and steering components from sudden impacts. A powdered-metal servo horn is supplied for additional steering durability.

Metal ball bearings are fitted throughout the vehicle to minimise drivetrain resistance and provide smooth operation.

The SR7 rides on large belted slick tyres, which help control tyre expansion at high speeds while providing the appearance and performance expected from a large-scale street car. The chassis comes factory set up to provide balanced handling straight from the box, while still offering plenty of adjustment for experienced drivers.

At approximately 711mm long and 343mm wide, the SR7 has an imposing presence that really shows off the Hoonicorn's aggressive styling. The combination of its huge 1/7 scale dimensions, officially licensed body and customisable roller chassis makes it an outstanding platform for enthusiasts wanting to build their own high-powered Hoonicorn.
